Hey, been a while sense I updated this...not sure what was going on last time I did, and am too lazy to check. I was in the hospital about two weeks ago, I think maybe a week and a half, and was held there for 4 days.
On the first day, the doctor told me, and this is a quote, "Don't worry, but it might be an infection in your heart..." Not the best way to break bad news. I went in for what I thought was Heat Exhaustion. For two days before, after a few hours in the baking heat, I was running a high fever (Averaging around 103.5), dizziness, light headedness, sore throat, head ache and other problems.
The second day, they told me a that my heart was fine, but it was an infection in my brain... lovely. Meningitis (I know I slaughtered that one). But it turns out the infection was in my spleen... they think it was mono, but the results still haven't come in.
Other then that, I been doing pretty good. Been reading a lot lately, switching from Ruroni Kenshin manga to The Dresden Files, and excellent modern fantasy series. The gaming group we got going on up here is going strong. We meet twice a week, and play two campaigns.
Been working on writing again. The main thing I am doing I call a combiography. (A portmanteau of Combo and Biography) It is a collection of true stories that have happened to me, or those close to me. The characters are mixes of friends and enemies of mine.
As for GenCon, it is all good. I spent all that week complaining to anyone that would listen at work, mainly gamer costumers on their way to GenCon, about having to work that week. One of them, a cute girl none the less, took pity on me. She must have been working for WotC, cause she got me a Black Robe Raist promo.
And GenCon brought me to the rant...4th edition D&D.
People have been spiting piss and viniger abut it... myself included. But the I realized something. Whenever a news of a new edition come out, the fans are outraged. They yell and scream about it, then line up and buy it... and love it. Been through it too many times with too many games, so I am skipping that step, and looking forward to it.
Other then that, my life is pretty boring, and I am beginning to enjoy it that way. Amber is working to get a new job, a good job, and we are working on getting our credit god enough for a loan to get me in school.
