Big News

I just realized this month I haven't posted in almost a year. I would like to say I had been busy, but I haven't been... just lazy. But I have some big news I want to share with my friends.

At 12:30 pm yesterday, Amber and I got married. It was a small ceremony, just the parents and siblings, which is why we waited to tell y'all. I wish we could have had you all there, but we had a tiny budget, under $400. I hope y'all understand. We are planning a larger ceremony, but it will be at least two years in the future. But Amber is getting closer and closer to an official position with Humana. For those who hadn't heard, she has been Temping with them for 3 months. So we had to hurry the marriage so when she got a full position there I would be covered under her insurance. We are also closer to getting our own place here.

We are finally hitting our stride and getting things done. Pictures will be posted soon, by the end of the week if possible. I hope to see most of you at GenCon this year. And we are planning a trip up to Illinois sometime in the fall, most likely.

Update and Rant

Hey, been a while sense I updated this...not sure what was going on last time I did, and am too lazy to check. I was in the hospital about two weeks ago, I think maybe a week and a half, and was held there for 4 days.

On the first day, the doctor told me, and this is a quote, "Don't worry, but it might be an infection in your heart..." Not the best way to break bad news. I went in for what I thought was Heat Exhaustion. For two days before, after a few hours in the baking heat, I was running a high fever (Averaging around 103.5), dizziness, light headedness, sore throat, head ache and other problems.

The second day, they told me a that my heart was fine, but it was an infection in my brain... lovely. Meningitis (I know I slaughtered that one). But it turns out the infection was in my spleen... they think it was mono, but the results still haven't come in.

Other then that, I been doing pretty good. Been reading a lot lately, switching from Ruroni Kenshin manga to The Dresden Files, and excellent modern fantasy series. The gaming group we got going on up here is going strong. We meet twice a week, and play two campaigns.

Been working on writing again. The main thing I am doing I call a combiography. (A portmanteau of Combo and Biography) It is a collection of true stories that have happened to me, or those close to me. The characters are mixes of friends and enemies of mine.

As for GenCon, it is all good. I spent all that week complaining to anyone that would listen at work, mainly gamer costumers on their way to GenCon, about having to work that week. One of them, a cute girl none the less, took pity on me. She must have been working for WotC, cause she got me a Black Robe Raist promo.

And GenCon brought me to the rant...4th edition D&D.

People have been spiting piss and viniger abut it... myself included. But the I realized something. Whenever a news of a new edition come out, the fans are outraged. They yell and scream about it, then line up and buy it... and love it. Been through it too many times with too many games, so I am skipping that step, and looking forward to it.

Other then that, my life is pretty boring, and I am beginning to enjoy it that way. Amber is working to get a new job, a good job, and we are working on getting our credit god enough for a loan to get me in school.

GenCon

Rob and I can't make it this year, but for those of you going, there's some swag that's going to be there that Rob would really like. Particularly the Star Wars and D&D minis promos and the Kingdom Hearts II TCG swag. If anyone could get him some of this stuff, we'd both very much appreciate it.

I got my hair cut off!

I cut all of my hair off and donated it to Locks of Love. It's uber short now, and cute.

In other news, I'm almost done with this semester at UofL, and I'm going to be switching majors. Computer Engineering is just proving too damned difficult for me to keep up with it and life.
I don't know what I'm switching to yet, but I'll figure it out before I'm done with the Gen Ed fluff I'm taking next semester to try and salvage my GPA.

I'll bug Rob to post later.

Umm... Nothing's Going On

I'm going to school, Rob's going to work... Aside from Pable coming down to visit us, life has been rather boring. So there's your post. :P

Update

Sorry it has been a while. For some reason, my blog wouldn't let me sign in. But it fixed itself, or Amber did it.

Well, I didn't get the job at the fabric store. Still kinda pissed at that. The only reason they said I might not get it at my interview was because I was a guy (That has got to be illegal...or it would be if it happened to a woman). Though I did get a better job. I am going to be working at the local theatre. Consessions. It will be more of the same food service my last few jobs have been, unfortunatly. But it pays a dollar more then the fabric store, and free movies, so I can't really complain.

My car died on me, the altenator blew. I hate altenators. This is my third car, and my third blown altenator. But we got that fixed. The worst part is it crapped out on me on my birthday. Now I think I have a coolant leak. Need to run it up to the dealership my dad works at and have him look at it.

Amber is doing pretty good. She is stressed out from school. I try to help, but I am not sure if I am helping or not. She is switching from working 2 days a week to one day a week, so that should help.

I've been sewing more. Almost have my Halloween costume done. Then I will be working on Amber's.

Well, I think that is all for now. I need to get going anyway.

Good News

Well, I have a some good news. I finally found a friend down here. She is cool. And sweet. I am looking forward to getting to know her better.
And it looks like I should have a job next week. And at a fabric store no less. I took some initiative, and went down there and talked to the woman hiring. And I made a good impression. She was busy, but I helped her unload the truck, and we talked during it. She said she was going to put in a very good word for me to the big manager, and so are the other employies I helped out.
